probably going to get so much flak for this, but i think its time to put this backhanded holiday/celebration? to rest. i agree with morgan freeman. why is it that there’s one month (the shortest month in the year no doubt) devoted to things african americans did/are doing. it’s like  someone said “fine… give them a little something so they feel better”. where’s white history month? where’s jewish history month then? where’s native american history month then? why is it that the memory of just standing up for oneself and the basic idea of human rights is made into such a big deal in one country, for just one race of humans all because of skin colour or race. 

can we just move on already, honestly. the best medicine against racism is to know it happened… forgive, then move on. not to keep being reminded of the struggles people have gone though, like you’re picking at an open wound. move on, already and stop letting this pity party of a month/holiday perpetuate america’s narrow minded inhumane times.  

again, another person who thinks they are clever. except like many they go into the whole native Americans don’t have a history month (they do november), jewish ppl don’t have a history month (they do, may), white folks don’t have a history month (you are partially right but many white ethnic groups do like jewish ppl, the irish in March, the polish in October, and many more groups seeking to have recognized history months like scots and germans).  and while you didn’t mention it yes hispanics and asians have history months. but whatever, if you truly cared about whether native americans or any of these other groups had a history month, you would know. but its not about that, its about black people not having a month.  its about Black folks not having anything to call our own, because that would be racist.

I think Black history should just be more well integrated into American history, because it is. I mean really. Other than some black people, and some other people. No one gives a fuck about Black history month. But if we could find a way to make it a better apart of an  American history class, THEN people would be more exposed and more interested ALL YEAR ROUND.  Not getting into the moving on part though. Haha, this is good enough.
